I'm so tempted to do a display board on something like the picture above. Maybe, I just wait for Faris to be able to pose like this. Eat your hearts out Amos Lee!
I managed to put up 3 display boards before I disappeared for a week. There are a lot of major events happening in November. Remembrance Day and Deepavali are among the lot.
Remembrance Day aka Poppy Day would be held on 11th day of the 11th month on the 11th hour. I was browsing some website relating to Poppy Day and saw this poem by Josie Whitehead. The poem moved me tenderly and I decided to dedicate the poem onto the board. I used the poppy flowers to decorate the board like a flowerbed. The board needed more than a handful of poppy cut-outs. So, I seek help from my team (you know who you are) to cut-out the pretty flowers. It took me almost 2 weeks to put up the board. I used chalk to write the poem. You could read the poem from this website. Deepavali (13/11/12) and it was a simple display. I spent so much time on the poppy display which left me little choice but to reuse the past display done by Mrs Susan Peart. I am very lucky to have a vibrant background for the lamp. I was quite ambitious before. I thought of doing a ranggoli/kolam but nay..... Mui Lin will be screaming at me for ruining the carpet with remnants of coloured chalk. It would be a messy display to maintain. So, the lamp is the best. Make it simple; and it is still the best. Carnegie 2013 display put up for Mrs Helen Micklewright. I thought of putting all the shortlists for 2013 but... There are so many titles. I think it is best to wait till next year for the shortlist. So I put up the winners first. And this is only Carnegie board 1. Board 2 will be put up next year with the student's review and ratings of the book they've read. This is a simple display that was put together in 2 days. H(APP)Y People was done much earlier. I must thank Mack (Y7) for his permission to use his photo for this publicity. I loved the display! It is about how to take care of your iPad. Next.... Christmas displays.... *Work in Progress*! |
