Try out this mini project. I got this pack from the recent SMMF2014. You could download the template from SMMF webby. Actually it is a keychain but I do not have the key ring so it became a cube instead. But if you have any creative ideas to turn it into something else than go for it.
What you will need: - Cube template - 3V coin battery - LED light - Aluminium tape (I used copper tape instead) - Scissors - Some tape In this project, I didn't follow SMMF recommended circuit but practiced on the circuit which I just learned a few days ago. It is similar concept to light up the LED. More projects to come once I have all the 'tidbits' coming in (LED lights, foils etc.)

This is a snapshot from the new TLRC newsletter - a weekly update on what all of us have been up to. Yes, I will be busy crafting until the Collaborative Zone and the MakerSpace is all ready for 'business'. And yes, there is a new space called the Collaborative Zone and there will be a MakerSpace where students come together to make things.
One of the things that we are going to make is a simple circuit to be embedded into clothing or paper etc. As you could see in the picture above, the experiment does not require many things. It is a simple project and not too challenging. This is the first step as how to light up the LED. Step 2 is to transfer this circuit onto a clothing or paper or photograph. I am new at this so it will take a little practice and some creativity to make this work especially making your clothes 'bling bling' with the LED lights. You might see me struggling in sewing the circuit sometime next week. Anyway, there are so many new things to try out and new 'toys to play' with (toys like copper foils, battery, paper clips and LED lights). On top of that, I will be planning a new calender for the library display. So watch this space to see what's new for display in 2015. Meanwhile, any ideas for Christmas decoration anyone? I visited 2 Makers Fairs while I was on a long maternity leave. It was quite educational as I was a newbie in this fairs. I was very inspired and awestruck to see that there were so many makers specialised in so many different things. A variety of competencies and specialisation. Creative with making stuff using technology or stationary. For those who have no idea what this makerspace is all about, I hope the photos would give you some hints. As more me, I have to start making stuff soon... (clay figurines and bags ahem... ahem...) 6 July 2014 @ Makers Block Suntec City26 july @Singapore Mini Maker FaireI hope to go to more such fairs and workshops. But before that, let me get started on these first...
