It is October and Halloween is the main display. I had a very challenging display to create and it was not my favourite theme. I spent quite a couple of weeks thinking on what would look right for the board (as well as tasteful). After much google-ing, I stumbled upon a concept - a hanging skeleton. It was very different from the past displays - which were very good and inspiring. It was not that difficult to put the elements together. I had help from various people. The heading ("Have a Spooktacular Halloween") was contributed by Azlinda - though it was much inspired by Tampines 1! It was much better than the plain "Have a good Halloween". The catchy phrase "Look, who is lurking amongst the shelves!" belonged to our very-own Mdm Battleaxe Gallactica, lady of the Readers' Advisory. And lastly, suggestion from Atiqah to reuse the 3-D coffins & tombstones - completed the whole board. And of course, the little detail of the spider web and the hanging skeleton was nicely sliced out from the paper by me. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is - 2 heads are better than one (OBVIOUSLY). The board just looks awesome and there were students looking at it especially the names inscripted on the tombstone... Honestly, I never like black background. But my past two displays has been looking great (1) F1 Night Race and (2) The Spooktacular Halloween. These 2 are my top favourites. Well, before the school breaks, I managed to change the window display too. It is greatly inspired by a movie that I watched recently, Perfume - a story of a murderer. We have both book and DVD - so I decided to do this little display. We have quite a good collection of both book & DVD of the same title. So far, it is moving - the DVDs, yes it is moving. I want to push the books too... Is there a way to bundle the deal up? Like put a fiction, movie & an audio book in a bag & dangle a goodie for borrowing? Just an idea!
