Not sure if they think that it is great. But I think that it is an awesome idea.
How about putting the contests online. I bet students will be accessible to it and participate instantly.

Well, this is what my hubs and I enjoyed from Phuket (see picture). Pure white sandy beaches rimmed with sparkling blue water, aye?! No, lah! It is the monsoon season hence the picturesque beaches is nowhere in sight. And, the tide is so low that we could walked across the seabed and see crabs scampering into their holes. I can't say that it is an enjoyable short getaway, we were not well - both of us. I was still nursing my gastritis, gatro-enteritis, dyspepsia flatulenc (a.k.a diarrhea lah) and my hubs was down with fever. I was the 'Thai nurse' -ka.... The mango desert (left) is the remedy for us both. Yummy! Not forgetting the ginger tea. (Serenity was like an overseas treatment center, hahaha) Oh well, we enjoyed the hotel facilities instead e.g. the pool-side (which we slept in the shade). It is a nice hotel and I think there were only less than 10 couples there staying at the hotel. So, I have to say that it is a decent holiday. Anyway, we will be back next time - with 'vengeance' (we are not done with Phuket yet!!!) Well, mess happens but not like this. We got the names and Jacqui went straight away to the examination hall and waited for them. And therefore, the ring leaders were banned from the library. But before they go, they came and aplogised to me.
Just to share a happy news! Faris is now 6 months! Time just flew rapidly and he would be walking (+ me would be running after him) in a couple of months from now. And another 6 more months till his first birthday (Oh no!!! It means that I have to start planning)! Being a working mum has taught me many things. Of course, it is incomplete without a few challenges once in a while. For example, waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning screaming for milk and wanted to play afterwards. Other nights, his mum would be awake a few times thinking that he is asking for his feed (but he is sound asleep). And of course there are nights which all of us would be sleeping undisturbed. The cute thing to see when I wake up every morning is to see him sleeping in different positions and styles e.g. star-fish, face-down-butts-up, pillows on the floor, 180-degrees -complete-turn-around... Lets see what other styles he could come up with and my new upcoming challenge would be studying and (+++) be a working mum for a year! Since the Avengers movies are on screen, I thought that this is a good opportunity to feature our Graphic Novel collection on display. This time the poster is in 3-D and it is quite interesting. Inspiration was taken from the web. It is more like a pop-out card. Watch this clip by an expert on how to get this done http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLUDaXZpa5E Below are some photos of my own. Once I was back from maternity, I was assigned to do a couple of displays. The first one was in-conjunction with Charles Dickens' 200th Birthday (7 Feb) and the World Book Day (1 Mar). I must admitted that it is time consuming and needs a bit of planning & research.
Charles Dickens information & pictures were taken from a biography (book).World Book banners and colours were used with permission (by the organisers). There were 2 contests for the students to take part: 1) The quiz, Who's Who? - guessing the characters created by Charles Dickens 2) The-Next-Dickensian - encouraging students to create their own Dickensian characters The Olympics display was a bit of work. Logos and mascot images were used with permission from the LONDON 2012 organisers (just email to them). The wordings were cut individually and pasted onto the board using contact paper. The silhoutte of the weightlifter was created using Tagxedo. And oh, the Olympics is used as a count-down tracker - I have to change the number of days daily... What: Games@Lunch For who: Year 7 When: Every Wednesday & Friday Time: 11:45am to 12:45pm, Lunch hour We have various games from board to card and electronic. This is to promote playing with others through educational games such as word games, board games and electronic games. Through this games, students would be able to enhance their sense of general knowledge, thinking skills, strategising game, teamwork and most importantly to have fun. I am so into Weebly these days which driving me to do more things, INTERESTING things. So I started an account just as a communication platform with the others. Sometimes it is just difficult meet with everyone at one go. Hope that this keeps all of us going and on the ball. And also to get input from the others informally.

They are enthusiastic about the blog and I think it will be a potential site to be an official sharing platform for all TLRC. This weblog has no association with any organization and it is solely based on my personal reading preference and professional development. It is just to jot down the achievements I did throughout the years. I am resigning from blogspot and hence continuing to writing in Weebly (http://azizahatwork.blogspot.com/).
